Now that George's brother has finally gone home and all is well, I can get down to basics. I wasn't sure which heading this went under though.

I came across this Parrotlet Seed Mix on ebay from Alta Loma Seed Co. in California.--- Amitola Aviary's Custom Parrotlet Mix
Has anyone ever tried it?

On another note, I've been skimming some of the older posts. I've really enjoyed seeing your videos and photos! :)

Sorry, just noticed the heading for Nutrition- drats Can I blame it on a senior moment or not enough coffee yet-IT"S EARLY HERE!

I have never heard of it but so long as it's a good quality seed mix it will be fine. All of us feed a wide variety of other foods to our birds that they get a healthy nutritious balance. Try Broccoli on your little guy they seem to love it.

My boy likes the seed from peppers I just put the end of the pepper in his cage and when I come home at night he has cleaned them all off and all thats left is the stalk :)

I give mine a good quality cockatiel mix, there are no specific parrotlet seed mixes over here.

LOL Pat! I have senior moments on a daily basis!!! No worries...We are definitely not fussy here! The seed mix sounds great! I give Cricket a small hookbill mix made by Sunseeds. My bird store carries it!

What kind of peppers, Kevin? I've given them chopped up bell peppers, which I think they ate because of the little green beaks. They ate broccoli for the first few days, but then seemed to lose interest in it. I guess I wouldn't want to eat it everyday either. Today, I stuck a few sunflower seeds in cooked sweet potato. Worked like a charm! :24:

LOL!! I don't know if that would have worked with me. I hated peas!!

That looks like a nice seed mix, Pat. It looks similar to Volkman Parrotlet mix which is a nice seed mix too.

I'm going to try hiding the sunflower seeds too. I've sprinkled millet on vegetables, that works too. :)

Yeah, they really bought it, Anita! rofl It didn't work on my 2 year old grand daughter either, Laura. eek She just said "NO"!

The seed mix caught my eye because of the fruits and vegetables mixed in. I know that the fresh fruits and vegetables are best and I will keep trying, but my little guys were not the least impressed with my "dinosaur eggs".

You can also custom order any mix at this place. I'm going to try it.

Ha!!! And all I got from my mother when I was little was "If you don't eat your vegetables, you get no dessert!" Well that didn't work either! LOL!

My mom tried the same thing with me, I could handle the peas because I drank milk and swallowed them like pills, But when it came to spinach oh yuck I couldn't handle that. Now I love both but as a kid it was awful.
