So I got this little girl and brought her home; here are some interesting things about her:
She has a bald patch on the back of her head (I think she was attacked);
Her one eye droops (I think there was nerve damage from the suposed attacked- but it seems all healed up);
She bathed in the same bowl she drank from (after they 'cleaned' it, it still turned the cloth i used brown when I cleaned it)
It's taken me 2+ hours to clean the cage/remove the chicken wire (it's actually a deccent cage)
She is OBESE!
She sticks her butt up about 5 times a day and acts all horny (also does this when I scratch her face)
She steps up but only on command
Super friendly and has only bit me once
She's also loves all the attention she's getting.

Oh, and I think she may have brain damage, one time when I held an almond out in front of her she bit the air out in front of her about 10 times about an inch away from the almond, and I also have had to stop her from eating her own poo.

Awww....she sounds like a sweet little girl! I wonder if she is possibly blind in one eye and that's the reason for missing the almond??

How could anyone keep a bird in those horrible conditions???

I'm sure more experienced members will have advice on her - it's so sad the way many people keep pets, we've seen a lot of that with pets we find to rescue on CL.

I agree it could be blinness in one eye, if she was attacked it could have cause the damage.

I'm starting to wonder if she was abused by a guy. Because she's bonded to me very quickly, but with my boyfriend she freaked out and bit him and hid when she first met him.

The bald spot I believe its these birds that its quite common for this to happen as they have very soft skin and its easy to pull their feathers out just by scratching them so be careful, If she has only one useful eye thats why she is missing the almond, eating their own poo would suggest to me that she is requiring some minerals make sure she has a mineral block, to soften it slightly to make it easier to chew for mer drop the mineral block into some water for a few seconds then hang it back in the cage.
